Early ms. ownership at the top of the t.p., but we can't make it out. Issued under a false imprint, this rare biography of the French finance minister Anne-Robert-Jacques Turgot, Baron de l'Auline (1727-1781) is attributed to Pierre Samuel du Pont de Nemours (1739-1817) who was a French writer, economist, publisher and government official. During the French Revolution, he, his two sons and their families immigrated to the United States (1799). His son Eleuthere Irenee du Pont was the founder of E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company. He was the patriarch and progenitor of one of the United States' most successful and wealthiest business dynasties of the 19th and 20th centuries. FR4. Soft cover.
