About This Item
London: Faber & Faber Limited, 1931 . Cloth. Very Good. 9" by 6". Barnett Freedman. The first illustrated edition of Sassoon's fictionalised account of the First World War. First illustrated edition of Memoirs of an Infantry Officer by Siegfried Sassoon in the original publisher's cloth binding. Lacking the dust wrapper. Beautifully illustrated throughout by Barnett Freedman with many in-text black and white illustrations and fifteen colour plates. Collated, complete. A novel by the English war poet, writer, and soldier, being a fictionalised account of his experiences during the First World War. Sassoon was one of the leading poets of the First World War. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The spine is slightly faded. The rear hinge is starting but firm, and the front hinge is slightly strained. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the occasional spot. Very Good
