HAGOOD, Johnson. Memoirs of the War of Secession from the Original Manuscripts of Johnson Hagood. Columbia, SC, 1910. 1st ed. 496pp. Illus. Maps. Errata sheet laid in. Orig. cloth. Fine. General Hagood (1829-1898) covers his experience of the war from Fort Sumter to the siege of Charleston. He took part in the bombardment of Fort Sumter, was present at Bull Run, and was made a Brigadier General with command of a brigade engaged in operations on the South Carolina coast in 1863. The book contains a good deal of specific information about the military manuevers of Hagood's brigade.
