Adolpho, Modesto & Ca. Impressores, Lisbon , 1890. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 422 pages (complete). In Portuguese throughout. A much owned, negligently stored, amiably aging copy. Marbled boards, leather spine. The boards are worn all about. They are scuffed, marked. Leather spine has wear, handling and shelving marks. Gilt decoration and titling. It is genial and benign and healthy. The boards are steady and sure. The contents have stamps and a signature from a previous owner (Eugenio Thomax Madeira). The frontis and end papers have some residue from removed label/s. They also have evidence of damp(ish) storage. The contents are tanned throughout from paper quality. Nonetheless, they are benign, placid. There are handling marks, some flushes and flurries of foxing. Nonetheless, the pages are clean, clear, amiable, assured, benevolent, more than competent. fk.
