Very good condition. 48 pp. *** FIRST and ONLY EDITION. Azambuja was Portuguese charge d'affaires in the United States from 1829 to 1834. Pages 45-8 deal with whaling, including mention of New Bedford, Fairhaven, New London, Falmouth, Newport, Plymouth, Salem, Sag Harbor, New York, among other places in the United States. Fisheries in Newfoundland and Labrador are also discussed. Most of the book deals with fishing for cod, with emphasis on the United States and Canada.
