About the author

Annie Decker worked for many years as a writer and editor. In the 1990s, she put together her grandparents' oral histories to preserve their stories. She is thrilled that other families can do the same by using this book. She obtained a city planning master's degree, focusing on senior citizens' transportation and homecare needs. She also went to law school, concentrating on public interest law, and continues to work to improve seniors' lives.

Nicole Burke Stephenson lives in San Francisco. She is descended from two generations of autobiography-writing women, her great-grandmother, actress Billie Burke Ziegfeld (With a Feather on My Nose), and her grandmother, Patricia Ziegfeld Stephenson (Ziegfeld's Girl). She is deeply grateful to them and to all of her grandparents for sharing with her their love, wisdom and experience.

Julie Toy is a Los Angeles-based lifestyle photographer whose work has appeared in numerous magazines.
