FIRST EDITION OF THIS ISSUE 1748. 12mo, approximately 160 x 90 mm, 6¼ x ¾ inches, 2 woodcut headpieces, pages: [4], 5-72, rebound in modern full panelled calf, gilt lettered label, gilt rules and date to spine, marbled endpapers. Stab holes in the inner margins, maybe issued as a pamphlet, last page has a pale stain to upper margin, not affecting text, occasional pale browning to outer margins, occasional small spot and dusty mark, otherwise a very good copy. 4 pages on Comical Tricks. In 1951, New Screen News was published weekly by the Australian chain Hoyts Theatres. At that time it was edited by Ken Brumley and boasted a weekly circulation of 50,000 copies. It became fortnightly from about July 1951. Many of the magazines in this fascinating collection are in fine condition.
