Not seen in Goldstone & Payne or Morrow, this edition is possibly a pre-publication issue, saved by the publisher. On the copyright page is indicated: First Published November 1937 followed by Second Printing August 1939. The cover is off-white with a blue outline on the top edge and spine edge, blue lettering, and The Viking Press, Publishers, Printed for The Dramatists Play Service, Inc. New York. In ink on the top of the front cover, neatly are the words "file copy." Blurbs on the back cover by Eleanor Roosevelt, Alexander Woolcott and Pearl S. Buck. A custom clamshell presentation box is included. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
