CONTENT: Poems about 14 precious anthropomorphic mice, accompanied by watercolor illustrations of Victorian costumed mice in quaint, cozy, country settings going about their mostly domestic activities. Each nicely designed double-page spread contains a narrative poem, color illustration, and smaller pencil drawing of the same mouse in another pose. The poems, mostly about baking, cleaning, gathering eggs, and the like, have strong rhythms and solid rhyme patterns. K - Gr 2. Actually adults will love the illustrations here, as well.
