Collins, 1940. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1940. No Edition Remarks. 432 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth with black lettering. Pages and binding are presentable with no major defects. Minor issues present such as mild cracking, inscriptions, inserts, light foxing, tanning and thumb marking. Overall a good condition item. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and sunning.

Collins, 1940. Hardcover. Good/Acceptable. 1940. 432 pages. Blue pictorial dust jacket over pink cloth. Pages are moderately tanned and thumbed at the edges, with moderate foxing. Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn, slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are mildly crushed. Light tanning to spine and edges. The unclipped dust jacket has moderate edge wear, tears and chips to edges and spine ends. Light tanning to spine and edges.

London: Collins. Very Good in Fair dust jacket. 1940. 1st UK. Hardcover. DJ heavily chipped, and creased with tears, missing a section from the bottom fore corner of the front panel and top of spine. Red cloth covered boards, faded top edge, light sticker damage top FFEP ; DJ stabilized in protective Mylar sleeve, unclipped, hinges intact; 1.3 x 8 x 5.5 Inches; 432 pages; This is a novel about the Red River Settlement - the first important settlement in the Canadian West - founded by Thomas Douglas, Earl of Selkirk who had bought the land from the Hudson's Bay Company. It was for the express purpose of providing homes for the Highlanders who were being evicted from their crofts in Scotland .
