About the author

Joelle Ramirez began writing children's books after becoming a first time mom at the age of 42. Feeling over tired but unable to sleep, needing a creative outlet, some relaxation and mental stimulation, writing became an oasis for her. It was especially therapeutic on those days when "a last resort car ride" was the only nap solution. This mom would grab her laptop before heading out of the house and drive to a neighborhood park where she would quietly get situated and begin typing away in the driver's seat, writing rhyming tales for the little boy who sat behind her, happily snoozing in his car seat. When her son was able to talk, he began requesting the stories again and again. That's when Joelle decided to self-publish and turn her stories into illustrated books to share. This Cat Can Cook! is a book series she created as a delightful way to introduce new foods, cooking terms and food related subjects to kids.
