Keyes author of many books on the region including: Finding Their Voice: Northeastern Villagers and the Thai State, and Golden Peninsula: Culture and Adaptation in Mainland Southeast Asia, referred to familiarly as "Biff" in the inscription. Straight, tight and clean with no markings, light rubs and nicks to dustjacket, in new Brodart sleeve. A collection of 13 stories by prominent Thai authors written between 1939 and 1976 during the period generally referred to as the "American Era". Preface and lengthy introduction by Anderson covering both: The Historical Context, and Authors, Themes and Styles. Illustrations by Vasan Sitthiket. Appended biographies of the 12 Thai authors.
