Lustrous pale blue cloth with silver lettering embossed on spine and blind stamp of title on front board, slate blue endpapers, frontispiece features an illustration of a woman dressed in period clothing on a brown background, title page also in brown with lettering in varying shades of tan, illustrated in color and black and white throughout, 400 pp. An irreverently charming study of fashion from the first attempts to string together some fig leaves to modern day. From the personal library of the late dancer, Martha Graham. Dust jacket has repaired flat tear at top of spine, very light shelf wear; front board has tiny flaw in title stamp, bindings are clean and sharp cornered, text block is bright, tight and appears gently read.
