Boston, MA: Porter E. Sargent. Near Fine with no dust jacket. 1914. First Edition. Hardcover. Original 1914 printing not a reprint or POD. Hand made paper label on spine with additional label in back of book for use. Inscribed and signed by the artist Vedder to Mrs. Lucile Bastinnelli, Her Book, Elihu Vedder, with drawing of an Owl sitting on a book as part of the artistic inscription. Several tipped-in and in-text illustrations and decorations. Minor sun fading shadow on end paper and opposite page from tipped-in illustrations. Vellum over boards cover with gilt print in excellent condition with only slight dents to top and bottom of spine. Some pages uncut. Collector's grade. Scarce if not rare in this condition. Item now in archival sleeve to preserve and protect condition. Our photo's/scans are of the actual item being sold, not a borrowed image!
