New York: Robert Carter, 1843. 12mo, cloth, gilt title on spine, illustrated, 406 pp.Top hinge is weak, endpapers are torn, creased, and a bit stained, some foxing and aging. The early chapters present the author's views on the origin of the Hottentots, and give his opinions of the work of the London Missionary Society. In addition to giving an account of his missionary efforts, he also describes the customs of the natives he met.
