A concise look at modern history, specifically from the time of Luther, up to the fall of Napoleon.This work was written for use in schoolsWritten by John Lord, an American historian. In a half calf binding with cloth to the boards. Externally, generally smart, with some rubbing to the boards and spine. Some light marks to the boards, including a larger mark to the front board. Some fading to the spine. Prior owner's pencil inscription to the recto to the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with just a couple of spots, mostly to the endpapers and pastedowns. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
