Very mild yellowing at outer edges of pages, commensurate with age of the book. Illustrated with 24 full page bw plates, each plate having an accompanying explanation on the facing page. Two cataloging stickers ( 5.5 x 6cm, 5.5 x 5.5cm) on front pastedown, otherwise endpapers clean. No other internal library markings, no pocket. Hinges sound. Very dark brown cloth with gold lettering and goldstamp logo. Remnant of lib catalog number written in white near tail. Head and tail of spine are rubbed. Corners are rubbed. Minor shelf wear along bottom edge of boards. Joints are sound, though surface of joints have moderate wear. Additional shipping may be required - 30 x 24cm Includes Library Catalogue Slips (book descriptions by title, author, and series); a six page Advertisement listing other publications of the United States Geological Survey including Annual Reports, Monographs, Bulletins, and Statistical Papers. This is Monograph XXIV and is listed in the Advertisement Contents of this Monograph include Letter of transmittal from Prof. Geo. H. Cook; Letter of transmittal from Prof. R.P. Whitfield; Preliminary remarks; Section I - Brachiopoda, Section II - Lamellibranchiata, Section III - Gasteropoda, Section IV - Crustacea, Description of plates, and Index. Even with consideration given for wear noted on covers, this volume is an excellent find.
