About This Item
Tucson, Arizona, U.S.A.: Dennis McMillan Pubns, 2004. Book. Illus. by Michael Kellner. Fine. Hardcover. Signed By All Contributors. First Edition/First Printing. A square solid tight unread copy. The collection is firmly rooted in the hard-boiled tradition, these 13 stories from Phillips showcase the cool exuberance of black Los Angeles PI Ivan Monk, whose family connections tend to prod him into taking cases no one in his right mind would investigate. One of 300 copies, featuring a jazz CD. The CD also contains author reading parts of three of his stories with musical accompaniment. There's also an introduction on the CD by novelist/screenwriter Robert Ward. The book includes 18 pages of photographs that complement the author's depiction of Los Angeles in his stories. This copy has been signed by the author and presumably all others who had a part in producing the book including Ward, the illustrator Michael Kellner, McMillan and 10 others whose signatures that I can't recognize/read..

About Pat Cramer, Bookseller
I have been selling used and rare books internationally since 1985.I tend to list modern fiction because that is what i know the most about.I specialize on horror and suspense fiction because these are two areas that i enjoy most and because they are two areas that I know the most aboutI am not a generalist dealer but I have been known to list a small percentage of anything that looks interesting to me, fiction and non-fiction, to bring new customers to my site.
