Edition limited to 750, printed by Lawton Kennedy. Leaves uncut/unopened after p. 74. Letterpress bookplate of bibliophile Roger K. Larson. The third volume in John Howell's series. Commander John Berrien Montgomery witnessed the Bear Flag Revolt in San Francisco Bay during the Mexican-American War, and his detachment raised the U.S. flag in Yerba Buena on July 9, 1846. Illustrations include Sam Brannan imprints from Yerba Buena.

All books are packed and shipped within 24 hours of receipt of order. Every book is professionally packaged in a heavy cardboard box and shipped via US Postal Service, fully insured.
