London: Country Life Limited, 1942. Leather. Very Good. 11" by 8.5". Peter Scott. A smartly bound sixth impression of this beautifully illustrated work on wildfowl from Sir Peter Scott. Sixth impression, originally published 1935. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, fifteen colour plates, and thirty-four black-and-white plates. Collated complete. A detailed ornithological study of wildfowl, with chapters on migration, adaptation to weather, different species and their characteristics, catching birds for study, song, and much more. Written and illustrated by Sir Peter Scott, a British ornithologist, conservationist, naval officer, broadcaster, and sportsman who took an interest in observing and shooting wildfowl at a young age before taking to their breeding. Bound in half crushed morocco with blue cloth boards. Externally, smart with light shelf wear to the extremities. Two small splits in the leather at the joints to the tail of the spine. Light fading to the spine and the odd mark to the board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Very Good
