About the author

Jean-Claude Schertenlieb turned to journalism while doing business studies. Keen on motor sport, he became a rally navigator then driver, while writing for the Feuille d'Avis de Neuchatel newspaper. He then ran the sports pages for the Journal du Jura, before going freelance in 1985. From then on, he has covered all the world championship GP for the Swiss daily Le Matin, becoming deputy sports editor in 2000, covering all the motorcycle world championship GP. He has written two books about Jacques Cornu and set up the Motorcycle Grand Prix Yearbook with Chronosports. A father of three and an indefatigable traveler, he loves recharging his batteries in his little house in Brazil.
