London: Hodder and Stoughton, 1950. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good-. 8vo. 240 pp. Fourth impression. Blue cloth boards. Some sunning at the bottom of the spine, otherwise minimal wear. Tight binding, no internal markings. Top edge of dust jacket has some chipping, short tears, and front panel has a small, pale stain. Protected by a new mylar cover. Smythe, an accomplished British mountaineer and photographer who climbed extensively in the Alps and Himalayas, reflects on the joys of mountains.
