This is the first issue to have two folding maps and additional narrative by King of his ascent of Mt Whitney. Original green cloth (same style as first edition of 1871) with debossed border front & rear, beveled boards, gilt lettering spine, original brown coated EPs. The book has general rubbing to cover edges and spine, some fraying to spine ends, some soiling to upper area of spine, cracking to EP paper at hinges but hinges strong and holding well, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, no foxing, solid binding, no repairs or restorations.
