New York: Harper & Brothers, 1895.. 1895.. Good. - Small octavo, 6-3/4 inches high by 4-1/2 inches wide. Hardcover, bound in pictorial tan cloth, titled in gilt and elaborately illustrated and decorated in black & red on the front cover & the spine. The covers are bumped, rubbed and soiled and the spine darkened. The book is cocked. xii, 265 & [6] pages, illustrated with a pictorial red & black title page, 19 full-page illustrations and profuse textual illustrations by H.W. McVickar. A previous owner's name is penned on the verso of the frontispiece. The front edges of the first few pages are lightly dampstained. Good. <p>First edition.
