London: William Heinemann, 1928. First British Edition. Hardcover with dust jacket. Very Good/Very Good+. 8vo. Pp. xi, 256. Bound in full dark blue cloth with blindstamp vignette on front cover, gilt lettering stamped on spine. Decorated endpapers. Bookplate. Light foxing to preliminaries; light dust soiling to top edge. In the pictorial dust jacket that has a shallow chip at base of spine. Published the year Wylie (1885-1928), thereto a respected poet and novelist, died from complications of a stroke. She was keenly interested in Shelley; this novel is one of two in which the travails of a Romantic poet form the story's framework. The striking dust jacket art features a recurring motif of a lion attacking an antelope. Dust jacket is now preserved in a removable, clear archival sleeve.
