M. Teresa Turell (Ph.D. Universitat de Barcelona) is Professor of English Linguistics at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona). She has conducted extensive research on Catalan and English sociolinguistic variation. She is the author of No One-to-One in Grammar (1983), Elements per a la Recerca Sociolingstica a Catalunya (1984), Nuevas Corrientes Lingsticas (1990), La Sociolingstica de la Variaci (1995).
