About This Item
New York: Ivy Books/Ballantine, 1987. First Printing, First Paperback Edition. . Mass Market Paperback. Good Plus to Very Good. A historical mystery set in California in 1928 by Beck, a master of the lightly humorous 'whodunnit.' The Easter week house party at the very rich Brockhursts' has nearly everything, including a sinister seance with an unexpected blackout and screaming; a missing butler and a 5000-year-old mummy, ousted from his sarcophagus by the dead body of nearly naked young woman. Pictorial wrappers show some minor surface wear including a single light crease on the back cover. What appears to be a phone number on the inside front cover, no chipping or tearing. Text is clean and unmarked, tight and square. A collectable copy.
