Two paperclip indentations on front fly, and lightly rubbed on the spine, near fine in a very good dustjacket with modest chips at the spine. Howard Haycraft's own copy with his bookplate on the front pastedown. Influential history of the detective story as a literary form, beginning with the invention of the form by Edgar Allan Poe.
