New York: Frederick A. Stokes, 1928. [x], 257 pages. Hardcover, bound in grey cloth with colour paste-down illustration on front. Colour frontispiece with tissue guard and 6 full-page black-and-white illustrations by Winifred Bromhall. Binding is tight, hinges sound, spine slightly slanted. Former owner's name and address neatly on front endpaper. Boards show minor wear to extremities with cloth rubbed at tips, fraying with two tiny tears to head of spine. Pages clean throughout; several show minor damage to lower margin (short tear or chip) probably due to book being issued unopened (there is still one pair of unopened pages preceding page 1) and pages separated by overeager young hands. Additional photos available upon request. Charming story by author of The Lost Queen of Egypt. Two little girls, sent to stay with a snobbish aunt and unkind cousin while their mother takes a live-in nursing job, determine to run away and live on their own in their own home. But housekeeping, especially in the 19th century, is not nearly as easy as it might appear!. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. Illus. by Winifred Bromhall. 5 x 7.5 in. (12.5cm x 19cm).

Description:
New York: R. Worthington, 1881. I have only been able to locate three other copies of this book in this country, one in the University of Louisville Library, one in the Florida State Library, and one in my own library that I am offering in a separate listing. However, there might be some copies in private hands. "Sunday Chatterbox" is an oversized children's book, measuring 7 5/8 by 10 inches. The book is unpaginated. It is in Good+ condition. The stories, poems, and songs for children are both secular and religious (bible stories). So why is this collectable? Not only due to its rarity, but because of the 90 gorgeous pen-and-ink drawings found throughout. (I suspect that other copies no longer exist because they've been cut up and their illustrations sold as individual prints.) These are also both secular (centering on children) or religious (illustrating bible stories). All are suitable for framing. (Interested buyers should email me and I will send them sample illustrations…

It can also appear because another family member may be feeling medical anxieties.
