Description

London: Longmans, Green, and Co. 1901. 8vo. First edition from 1901, half dark red morocco over cloth boards. Top edge gilt; raised bands and gilt lettering to spine; decorative endpapers. A book considering Mary, Queen of Scots, in light of the Lennox manuscripts in the Cambridge University Library. Lang later also writes a monograph on 'The Portraits and Jewels of Mary Stuart'. Slight offsetting to title-page, bookplates to endpapers and first blank. Binding firm, internally clean. B/w frontispiece portrait of Mary Stuart. Includes 20 b/w illustrations and a gift letter from 1953 to Lord Kelmsey. A handsome book. . Near Fine. Half Morocco. First Edition. 1901.

We have an open bookshop in London which is open Monday to Saturday 10.30 to 17.30, and Sunday from 11.00 to 17.00, except Easter and Christmas.

Prices are in sterling, and are subject to availability. We can accept bank transfers in Sterling, Euros, US and AUS dollars. We ship priority shipping as standard, and pack our books well. Courier services available. We are also able to offer same day delivery within London postcodes for some orders - ask for a quote. Valuable items will be sent via registered airmail or one of the courier services. Large orders can be sent via consolidation, which reduces the cost per book.
