First line

The making of Star Wars: Episode I the Phantom Menace had been an exhausting, all-consuming five-year ordeal for writer-director George Lucas; and so, soon after the movie's ballyhooed release in May 1999, Lucas left his headquarters at Skywalker Ranch in Nicasio, California, to spend two months in Europe with his family.
