DIANA PARSELL is a writer and editor in Washington, D.C. She has written for National Geographic, The Washington Post, Smithsonian, Science News, and many other publications. Parsell holds graduate degrees in journalism and nonfiction writing from the University of Missouri and Johns Hopkins University.
