In the original price-clipped dustwrapper. Incomplete, being volume five of five volumes. This work is a facsimile of the original 1718-19 five volume publication of John Aubrey's works. 'The Natural History and Antiquities of the County of Surrey' offers an insight into the history of Surrey, focussing on its natural history and the important antiquities within the county. John Aubrey was licensed to undertake a survey of Surrey by the cartographer and royal cosmographer John Ogilby in 1673. Aubrey was an English antiquary and natural philosopher, best known for his collection of short biographical pieces, 'Brief Lives'. Illustrated with eight plates. In the original publisher's cloth binding with the original price-clipped dustwrapper. Externally, smart. Small closed tear to the bottom edge of the front wrap of the dustwrapper, and a very little age-toning to the reverse. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Fine
