The gilt titling on the spine is clear and vibrant. Previous owner's bookplate on the front endpaper. The textblock is clean, bright, unmarked, and complete. The binding is tight. Comes with newspaper clippings about Mandela laid in. Author Mary Benson was a South African civil rights activist who aided Nelson Mandela in his escape from Africa in 1962. Her biography is the second to be written about Mandela. This biography was banned in apartheid South Africa when it was published.
