Corgi Books, London, 2005. First Edition. Softcover. Very Good Condition. Illustrator: Illustrated. Two appendices, notes on sources, bibliography, acknowledgements and index. To the verso of the front panel is a reproduction of Nelson's plan of attack on October 21, 1805. The text is illustrated with four, of eight pages each of coloured contemporary illustrations, with the occasional coloured photograph and throughout the book there are black-and-white photographs and illustrations. Colour photographic paperback binding with black and dark red coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. When Horatio Nelson died at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805 his personal effects were given to his closest business associate, Alexander Davison. These effects along with letters by Nelson were held by Davison's descendants until they were found by the author in their home. This is the story of Nelson's treasures  their history and what became of them. Minor creasing of the book corners with some curling of the front panel. Rubbing of the book edges with light uniform tanning of the text block edges and age toning of the pages. First softcover edition. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
