Hagers-town, (MD): Jacob D. Dietrick, 1806. First edition. 12mo. 527, (26), (39) pp. Index; subscribers list. Recorded anonymously in all sources consulted. American Imprints 10952. Cohen 8051. Contemporary calf (chipped at base of spine), leather spine label. Jilson Payne early owner's name and bookplate with ink notes on endpapers, but a good solid copy. Jilson Payne was born in Fairfax County, Va moved to Kentucky with his parents when he was 18 in early 1785. He was a Kentucky State Legislator, plantation owner, and prominent member of the Baptist Church in 1803 he built a house called Mt. Pleasant near Mt. Sterling for his family.
