The wraps are subtly age-toned. In 1953, Michael McClure settled in San Francisco, where his poems were published in a number of little magazines, and where he grew to be associated with the "San Francisco Renaissance." According to Allen Ginsberg, "McClure's poetry is a blob of protoplasmic energy." Inscribed by Michael McClure to bookseller and Oyez Press publisher, Robert Hawley, on the half title page.
