The date on the title page is 1873 and the verso shows the list of 10 titles with the price of $1.50 per volume. Following this is a printed facsimile dedication page in Collins' hand dated 1873. NOT ex-library. Hardcover has green pebble-textured cloth-covered boards with gold spine and cover lettering. Front and back covers have blind-stamped ruled borders and the back cover has blind-stamped publisher's logo. Dark brown coated endpapers. Tissued frontispiece. Black and white illustrations. Binding tight. Hinges NOT cracked. The front cover has some abrasions that appear light green on the darker cloth. Corners rubbed. Spine ends worn, with some chipping at the tail. Imprinted bookplate on front endpaper. There is a chip in the coating of the front free endpaper at the bottom. Some light stains on top page edges. Pages clean and unmarked. 325 pages. No dust jacket. Carefully packed, shipped in a box.
