London: John Murray, 1837. (UK) 60th Edition This copy has one signature missing, not removed, but missing. When one looks at the top edge of pages, there is no gap. This missing pages are from 193 to 209 inclusive and cover the recipes from pies and pasties. Front fly and rear fly has ink marks, owner's signature, no other markings, pages quite clean, with wear to the cover edges, cover panels soiled. The spine had split at the edge where it meets the front cover; this has been rebacked. Tight copy with the interior pages quite clean, Good overall. 18 x 11 cm, original grey boards with green leather spine and paper title label, new endpapers, frontis showing kitchen scene with game, rabbit and fish in foreground, [i titlepage-v], vi-liv, [1], 2-448pp, index. Frontis, IX Plates all in the locations prescribed by the binding instructions. Full title reads: " A New System of Domestic Cookery formed upon Principles of Economy and Adapted to the use of Private Families. By a Lady. Sixieth edition corrected and augmented with a New Chapter on French Cooking". (1.5 JM HOQ 100/1. 60th. Hardcover. Acceptable/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
