Very Good+ in Wraps and in a Very Good DJ: shows indications of very careful use: just a bit of scuffing to the heel of the backstrip and a mild bump to the upper corner, which has caused a bit of buckling; the binding is square and secure; the text is clean. Free of creases to the backstrip. Free of any underlining, hi-lighting or marginalia or marks in the text. Free of ownership names, dates, addresses, notations, inscriptions, stamps, or labels. A handsome copy, structurally sound and tightly bound, showing mild wear and minor, unobtrusive imperfections only. Bright, crisp and clean. Close to 'As New'. The DJ shows light wear along the top edges of the panels and mild rubbing to same (mainly to the rear panel); else only a bit of scuffing to the heel of the backstrip; unclipped. Attractive and intact: not far from "As New". NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. Paperback: French Wraps with DJ. Features a liberal sampling of Roerich's artistic career. Nicholas Roerich (1874 – 1947) – known also as Nikolai Konstantinovich Rerikh - Roerich lived in various places around the world until his death in Naggar, Himachal Pradesh, India. Trained as an artist and a lawyer, his main interests were literature, philosophy, archaeology, and especially art, Roerich was a dedicated activist for the cause of preserving art and architecture during times of war. He was nominated several times to the long list for the Nobel Peace Prize. The so-called Roerich Pact was signed into law by the United States and most nations of the Pan-American Union in April 1935.was a Russian painter, writer, archaeologist, theosophist, philosopher, and public figure, who in his youth was influenced by a movement in Russian society around the spiritual. He was interested in hypnosis and other spiritual practices and his paintings are said to have hypnotic expression.
