Third book in this series of mysteries featuring the 14 year old daughter of a newspaper publisher, and the last one issued in this format of cloth boards illustrated with a simple line drawing. Illustrated with full-page drawings by Margaret Jervis. Campbell is best known as the author of the original books in the Trixie Belden series, and she also wrote some of the early Cherry Ames and Vickie Barr stories under her married name of Julie Tatham. Advertisement at back of book lists 3 books in this series, 3 titles in the Trixie series, etc. 248 pp plus 2 pp of publisher's ads. Illustrated endpapers.

Vintage Whitman Publishing Company edition 1957. Hardcover, pictorial matte boards with original dust jacket. Overall condition is very good, dust jacket showing wear at top and bottom of spine and edges, but with bright colors. Dust jacket protected by a removable mylar cover. Slight bumped corners of boards. Pages are unmarked. Beautifully illustrated endpapers, with a slight separation from binding at front hinge. Please see photos for specifics. A fantasy illustrated by Robert McCloskey, author and illustrator of "Make Way For Ducklings". Summary: "A man wakes up to find that he has no head, so he goes looking for it." Hard title to find.
