A very clean very tight copy with bright unmarked boards, slightly foxed slightly dusty top of page edges and no bumping to corners. Dust jacket not price clipped or marked or creased with tiny piece missing from upper front corner. Large fold out drawing in excellent condition. 215pp. A very in-depth biography of Great Northern locomotive engineer (Sir) Nigel Gresley, whose designs reached their peak with his streamlined A4 Pacifics - the Streaks. There are also references to and diagrams of Gresley locomotives that never got beyond the drawing board. Well illustrated. At the back is a large fold-out exposed drawing of his 'Cock o the North' xxpress passenger locomotive no 2001.. Hard Cover. Very Good (+)/Very Good. 8.75 x 5.75 inches.

Pages and plates are bright and clear with light foxing and tanning to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Moderate cracking to gutters causing some looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear. Spine has subtle sunning with soft crushing to ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Clipped dust jacket with minor rubbing, chipping and tearing to edges. Moderate tanning and scuffing overall.
