'The Night of Morningstar' is the eleventh novel charting the story of O'Donnell's infamous heroine, Modesty Blaise. This novel sees Blaise up against a terrorist organisation, The Watchmen. Featuring evil plots, attempted assassinations, and plenty of adventure, this is a prime example of O'Donnell's talent for writing action stories. Debuting in the Evening Standard in 1963 Modesty Blaise was originally a comic strip, written by O'Donnell and illustrated by Jim Holdaway. Modest Blaise is a talented young woman, with a criminal past, who ends up on a series of action filled adventures with her sidekick Willie Garvin. Aside from the comic strip, Blaise featured in a total of eleven novels and two short story collections. Peter O'Donnell was a British writer of mysteries and comic strips. Though best known for his Modesty Blaise series, he was also a award winning gothic romance novelist, writing under the pseudonym Madeleine Brent. Condition: In full cloth binding, held in an unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, very smart, with some minor shelfwear. Spotting to the topedge, and also to the front and rear pastedown. Dustwrapper is excellent, again with some minor shelfwear. Slight rubbing to the spine, and to the extremities. Minor offsetting internally to the wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Overall Condition: Near Fine.
