Signed and inscribed by the publisher and the book designer. A bibliomystery about the pursuit of a fragmentary lost text printed with strange movable type before Gutenberg. A lively, unsettling tale of desire and deceit in the rare book world. 151 pp. 8vo, 8.5 x 5.5 inches. Stiff green wraps. Dated 12/7/87. A couple of stains to the rear cover, but Near Fine otherwise. Signed in 1989 by publisher David J. Holmes and designer Ellis J. Neel Jr. Inscribed "For Phil" [Philip Cronenwett, 1946-2018, a former special collections librarian at Amherst and Dartmouth colleges.] An uncommon advance proof. Very scarce due to the small number printed.
