About the author

Traer Scott is an award-winning photographer and the bestselling author of four previous books, including Shelter Dogs and Newborn Puppies; Dogs In Their First Three Weeks. Her work has been featured in National Geographic, Life, Vogue, People, O, and dozens of other major national and international publications. Recent solo exhibitions of her work have been held in Portland, Oregon; the UK; Shanghai, China; and the Netherlands. Scott is the recipient of the 2008 Helen Woodward Humane Award for animal welfare activism and the 2010 Rhode Island State Council for the Arts Photography Fellowship Grant. She resides in Providence, Rhode Island, with her husband, daughter, and pit bull.
