About This Item

1876. Turin, Carlo Favale e Compagnia, 1876. Large 8vo. Original printed wrappers; pp. 35; tinted lithographic portrait- frontispiece of Livingstone, one folding map; minor soiling to wrappers, stain to lower wrapper, some browning to portrait, a good copy, inscribed by the author on the upper wrapper. First edition. Caranti was a deputy of the Italian Parliament, who had already published some biographical details of Livingstone in 1867. In this work he provides a brief sketch of Livingstone's life and achievements, with a map showing his last journey. - Very rare; COPAC lists one copy only, in the British Library.
