Bodley Head. Hardback. Maurice Sendak has designed sets and customs for Hoffmann's famous ballet story. Here he brings to life Ralph Manheim's translation. Colour illustrated throughout including several double page spreads. First thus. Squarer format: 255 by 260mm (10 by 10¼ inches). Illustrated endpapers. Black cloth with gilt titles to front and surrounded by a blind impressed border, and gilt titles to spine is very clean and neat. Text is clean and crisp. Dust wrapper is rubbed to all edges and has some small surface loss to tail of spine. Near fine, bright copy in good+ dust wrapper . Hardback. First Thus. 1984.
