A collection of 22 articles on the California Missions by the congenial California journalist who was at various times a Civil War correspondent, private secretary to Abraham Lincoln, and editor in chief of the Los Angeles Star. The ninth volume in the Los Angeles Miscellany series. Original patterned paper-covered boards over a black cloth spine, with gilt titles. A near fine copy. Signed by Editor.
