Some mild rubbing, shelfwear, and staining to vellum. Ink ownership marking to front pastedown and front free end page. Shelved case 3. The Parisian François Mauriceau was a master-surgeon and leading obstetrician of his day, and his 1668 'Des maladies des femmes grosses et accouchées' established obstetrics as a separate science. This book is a reissue of the 1694 edition of his second book, and contains approximately 700 observations of obstetrics, clinical cases of childbirth or pregnancy, and pediatrics. 1343032.
