Octavo, 284pp. Maroon cloth, title in gilt on spine and front cover. Frontispiece portrait. Includes two original sketches by Fred T. Larson, a wartime comrade of Eby, which can found in the book. (Nevins I: 190) (Dornbusch I-26) An enlisted man's story of the battles of Richmond, Danville and his escape attempt. Considered one of the best descriptions of Belle Isle Prison available. Includes invitation to soldier reunion in 1919.
